Rupali Pathari,20, an artisan residing in Panbari village of Golaghat district in Assam pursued her education till the 5th standard and is now a full-time weaver who weaves for 4-5 hours a day. She is married and has a child who is 2 years old. She has eleven family members. She started weaving at the age of 14. She learnt the skill of weaving from her mother. She has three pairs of looms in her household. Rupali along with other two family members are in the weaving business. Apart from weaving, she is also responsible for agriculture work. She loves the hilly terrain of her village, however, according to her the quality of living in the village can be improved by better income generating programs.
